I wasn’t going to do this because there weren’t that many questions, but people have been asking so here you go.

I’m assuming you are planning on making a profit on FP (it wouldn’t be a very good business otherwise obviously), how do you plan going about that?

GMod’s royalties will go to the company now. And hopefully future games.

Are you going to be working on any new games with this new company? If so, have you any plans to release them in shops?

Yes, I would love to see our games in real shops, but one step at a time. Lets make a game first. I dunno, maybe we could get a Havok license and see if anyone wants to distribute GMod… that’d be something to talk to Valve about though.

About Facepunch, will you have an official website instead of a forum?

Part of moving the forum to its own domain was to seperate the forums and the business. The biz is facepunchstudios.com and the forums are facepunch.com. Facepunchstudios.com will eventually host a generic company ‘about us, contact us’ site.

Seeing as Facepunch is a company, are you going to start up the payment service for goldmember again?

Probably not. The small amount of money it generates isn’t worth the hassle really.

So if making Facepunch a real company won’t change anything, what was the point?

I think it changes your attitude.. it changes how you approach people and how they approach you. It’s just a natural evolution.

If Facepunch Studious is a company, are you still the one worker? Or will you pull in the rest of Team Garry?

TEAM GARRY was just a bunch of dudes on the net that helped with the development of GMod. They’re not part of FPS.

There’s 2 of us in FPS. Me, and my long time friend ‘Gwilty’ (on the forums). We’re going to ease into being a ‘proper company’ slowly, so I’ll still code in my underwear from my apartment, and Gwilty will start by replying to tech support emails and all the other boring stuff that he loves doing.

Now that Facepunch is a company, does that mean that Hezzy will have to live in a cubicle instead of a cardboard box?

Again, no, Hezzy doesn’t work for FPS, he’s an admin on the forums.

Can we have some facepunch merchandise for the new company?

People ask for this quite a lot, and it’s something we’ve talked about – but is it really something people would buy?

I understand that nothing will happen with FP as a company for a while, but when something DOES happen, what will it be?

It seems like a pretty natural path. In my head I envision something like this.

gmod > other game (steam and or xbox live) > other game > rent an office > employ people > grow

But you never know what’s going to happen, so we’re trying to stay loosey goosey so we have options.

How much did the business license (or whatever you brits call it) set you back? Where I’m at, these highly variable depending on which city you incorporate in, its from $20 up to crazy, no limit its based on your size.

It depends. You can do all the paperwork yourself and it costs something like £100. We went through the accountants though, so they took care of a lot of the bullshit and it ended up costing about £300.

Will Facepunch be renamed?

No, why would it?

Is the intention profit?

Huh, yes, we’re not a charity.

Off the track, will there ever be a new, improved, more stable version of Garry’s Mod (points towards the company)

GMod will carry on as it is. I think GMod’s days of being reborn are over. But we will see when EP3 comes out.
