I just updated to the latest TortoiseSVN only to discover that for some reason they made the overlay icons look like total blurry shit.
Well luckily enough this guy is on the ball and shows us how to get the old icons back. Thanks this guy!

This was so worth of a new blog post.

Np, glad it’s helped someone out :)
I thought that the reason the new icons look like complete shit is because they are supper high res and don’t work with AA very well?
Thanks for the link.
i updated and thought i was having a stroke
@5 AA? Anti-aliasing? What does that have to do with anything?
Also pix of new icons or they didn’t get implemented.
Lol? Weren’t those things change a long while back?
XPStyle is fine by me, but so is Modern or Straight. I’m always using list view, so if it’s the right color dot, I know what it means.
Everything looks like Vista.
llo wut
I know exactly what you mean – they look like arse.
The icons look fine to me (using 1.5.3, about to update to 1.5.5).
Maybe it’s only an issue in Vista?
Also now I prefer Cygwin’s svn.exe instead of TortoiseSVN… then I can automate svn updates through batch files. Bwahaha!
ARE YOU ON THE BALL!? GET ON THE BALL!
Ffffff
Hey, remember this?

MAZZTer, why would it be a Vista only problem, It makes no sense! It’s a god-dammed icon not a program that looks like shit.
I haven’t updated my TSVN for a while now, I think it might be a good idea too…
Because Vista has an overhauled Windows Explorer?
Because Vista menus have been tweaked to allow easier usage of icons in menus instead of ownerdraw-ing them in, and perhaps TortoiseSVN uses this functionality on Vista?
The fact is, it looks FINE on my XP machine and I am simply trying to figure out why. “Vista” is what I came up with. I didn’t even say “Vista sucks” or “Vista is 100x slower than XP” ideals that I might truly hold. But all I said was “TortoiseSVN’s icons might not render right on Vista”.
because vista sucks. i have it too :O. anyway my stepdad got an early beta of the new windows so hopefully i get that installed soon. :P
@ 16
I loled.
It’s not the shitty icons themselves that piss me off it’s the fact that they’re so damn big…they’re fucking massive.
who uses crappy tortiose svn o_O
What do you use?
Hey, thanks for the tip Garry! I hate how huge the icons were, but I found them to be descriptive… the “modern” set works wonders for me.
I love how well tortoiseSVN integrates into the windows folder browser, it makes managing arbitrary projects a breeze. I use a lot of programming languages, so allowing me to use whatever editor I choose is a godsend.
hiii….i recently baught garry’s mode and its not working for some reason….it tells me the program needs to close…please tell me how to fix this
