We’ve decided to release the latest version of Facewound for free, as is. This might sound awesome but bear in mind that the latest version is 3-4 years old.
So don’t expect much. This is totally unfinished, unpolished and should be treated with the same attitude you’d treat a leaked alpha with. I’ve literally just found the newest build that I can and just zipped it up and uploaded it. Don’t bother to bitch if it crashes or if it’s buggy because it isn’t gonna get fixed. If it doesn’t work then it doesn’t work and that’s that.
All the content remains the property of their respective authors. (So, for example, don’t get taking the music out and using it in your game or something).

I have to say Garry, this is the most fun with a indie game I’ve had in quite a while.
I love the billboards in-game too.
Yikes! Much better than I expected, even with the save bug that makes you lose your old guns (and can’t rebuy them) and the unfinished weapons it’s really fun to play! Good job Garry, if you keep working this is sure to turn out even greater. :)

I can’t imagine what all the fuss was about.
The controls are very unresponsive, jumping is especially annoying, the AI is stupid, the music is sort of annoying and doesn’t fit, the graphics just lack style and consistency, the game-play is old and fairy boring – and I say that as a guy who loves 2D shoot-’em-ups.
But there’s the cool shader effects… to make it run at 10 FPS.
The ragdoll physics look sort of phony and add nothing to the game-play.
Alpha or not, I doubt you’d be able to make a decent game out of it. No wonder you quit working on it and give it away for free.

Yes, the game runs really smoothly on WINE with no problems. Only issue I’ve found is the crosshair isn’t drawn so aiming is a little hard. No lockups or anything so far on Ubuntu Hardy.

Incredible fuckin’ game! Love it! There is one thing I would like to point out. I couldn’t help feeling a little dissapointed when all those big bugs started to show up and even more so when those freaky little brain-ufo-guys came flying in. As with Chuck they give the game a freaky feel to it wich is good in some ways and bad in some, perhaps I wasn’t in the right mood for that. Anyway, it would really be cool with maybe slightly more realistic verion of the game. More zombies and less aliens and monster and perhaps less weapons and ammo to make it harder. (I like the radioactive birdcrap :D)

Хотя думаю и здесь самое оно, чтобы показать своего кота, так сказать в тему)
Что касаеться игры, красиво оформлено(оценил).
Физика тоже понравилась, если учесть еще то что я сам очень любил рисовать именно в “Профиль” (2D) схватки могу оценить идею проекта, по обложки хотя и говориться не зря в пословице “Не суди книгу по обложке” здесь это не так и во многих играх именно эффект исполнения и ее графика стоят на первом месте.
Художники, флешь-аниматоры и программисты, вам (+)
