FAQ’s and Stuff

I gave my sister a lift to college today. On the way back I had to get petrol and was gonna go to McDonald’s but when I was paying for the petrol I noticed sandwiches. So I got a chicken salad sandwich. It was fucking rubbish. I was almost sick 3 times when I was eating it, but I knew that if I didn’t I would be hungry for the rest of the day. So I forced it down.

I decided I’d answer a bunch of questions that crop up a lot in the comments, so lets go:

Are you Married? No
Do you have a girlfriend? No
Do you have any kids? No
So who the fuck is that woman and girl in those photos? My sister and my niece
Do you have a job? No (I’m a ‘self employed game developer’)
Do you live off GMod? Yes
Do you have a ‘dating’ website? No (I got out of that game a couple of years ago)
Did you used to be a musician in the 80s? No
Have you got cancer? No
Have you ever had cancer? No
Um?? $10 for this POS make it free why you sell out go fuck yaself cancer valve
How much of GMod income does Valve get? 50%
How many copies of GMod have been sold? Lots. Over 100,000.
What the fuck is happening with Facewound? Nothing right now. It’s going to be coded again from scratch at all. We’re shopping around for engines at the moment to see how feasible it is.

Today I fixed GMod’s shaders. I was having trouble compiling shaders but Valve must have fixed it because now I can. So bloom, sharpen, colour mod, morph and sunbeams are back.

I had a play around with the new depth texture thing too. Made a simple outline/cellshade shader..

But it kinda sucks because for some reason it only works up to about 10 feet in front of you.

There’s not much to do now. Well that’s a complete lie. There’s lots to do, but it should all be smooth sailing. Apart from the faceposer.. which I’ve gotta look at. I have a feeling the faceposer is gonna be a real bitch with the new TF2 models, but I haven’t tried it yet.

The guys over at Unknown Worlds released Decoda yesterday, which I’m currently using to code all my Lua stuff. The $50 indie price tag might put you off, but there’s a 30 day trail so it’s worth a try out if you’re a Lua coder using Notepad++ or something.
